Biography
Daphne’s dance journey began at the age of 4 with Classical Ballet training, and has been training under Ms Lang Ley. Beyond her Classical Ballet foundation, her interest in dance has motivated her to pursue and explore different genres, from Contemporary, Lyrical, Jazz, Street Jazz to Modern Theatre.
Having graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Nanyang Technological University, Daphne balances a full-time career in a corporate environment, while maintaining her training in the RAD Ballet and ISTD Modern Theatre Advanced levels. Outside of that, she is committed to continuous learning, taking up Pilates classes in her free time to enhance her strength and reinforce body awareness in tandem to dance. She has also participated in multiple competitions regionally and locally, showcasing an array of different genres with every stage. Among her notable achievements are Silver and Bronze awards at Hong Kong Challenge Cup and the Cash Award at Asia Dance Arts Festival 2024. While Classical Ballet remains the core of Daphne’s dance training, she possesses a strong belief that exposure to different forms of dance is integral in shaping a dancer’s character and broadening their artistic perspective.
As an educator, Daphne believes strongly that values cultivated from dance such as discipline, resilience, confidence and teamwork, can extend seamlessly into everyday life. She aims to bring these values to light in her teaching, and inspire a next generation of dancers who will take dance beyond the stage.
