Biography

A relatively late starter compared to her peers, Cheryl started Ballet at the age of 9 and has been training under Ms Lang Ley. Cheryl sees versatility and confidence as essential traits in dance and has exposed herself to other dance related forms, including Modern Theatre, Latin and Pilates. She values dance in her life immensely not only as a form of expression, but also as a sport that trains discipline and tenacity, constantly pushing her beyond her boundaries.

Cheryl graduated with a Pharmacy degree from the National University of Singapore and works full time as an Executive on weekdays; while continuing her training in RAD Ballet and ISTD Modern Theatre Advanced levels, as well as completing the Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies. She has participated in numerous local and overseas competitions for Ballet, Latin and Modern and has experience in dance choreography. Some achievements include Gold Medalist HKCCDC 2017 (Modern), Bronze Medalist HKCCDC 2017 (Ballet), TDA Championships 2019 2nd runner up in Novice A (Chacha, Jive) and Novice B (Chacha, Rumba).

Cheryl’s goals in teaching are to nurture hardworking and humble dancers who are not only equipped with proper technique in a safe and supportive environment, but also to ensure young dancers have the soft skills and traits that will benefit them in dance, work and other aspects of life in the future.
